Jurong Island is an artificially incorporated island in the southwest of Singapore's main island. It is located at 1 16 0 N latitude and 103 41 45 E longitude. In the southwest of Jurong industrial area. It consists of Seven Coastal islands: Ayzawan Island, North Sai Island, Merimau Island, Aye Mabel Island, Sacra Island, Bagao Island and Sirai Island. The reclamation project was completed on September 24, 2009, 20 years earlier than the original date. The original area of 10 square kilometers (4 square miles) is now about 32 square kilometers (12 square miles) of Jurong Island. There are refineries on the island, with crude oil storage and compressed natural gas storage stations. The future direction of development is to become a chemical industry base with sophisticated technology.
